Museum of the Cathedral Treasury of Monza

Teodolinda, queen of the Lombards, is closely linked to the origins of Monza Cathedral. After having chosen Monza as her residence, around 595-600, the queen had a palace and a chapel dedicated to Saint John the Baptist built that was later transformed into the present day homonymous basilica, that is blessed with a precious treasury now kept in the Museum and the Treasury of Monza Cathedral. In the chapel dedicated to Teodolinda within the Cathedral the famous 'Corona Ferrea' (iron crown) is kept.
The 6th of June 2011 the Cathedral of Monza with the Queen Teodolinda was declared Testimony for the Culture of Peace for Humanity program by UNESCO.
