The Lagozza and Lagozzetta settlements

The Lagozza lake basin, today dried out, was occupied in the past by a vast, shallow marsh. Archaeological research has individuated the wooden piles of the dwelling and numerous objects.

Of particular interest are the weaving instruments and the paleobotanical remains. The village was inhabited at the beginning of the III millennium BC and perhaps abandoned soon after following a fire.

In the area known as Lagozzetta a settlement was established, dated by the finds, amongst which are notable a large pottery container and a long wooden staff with a curved handle, that belong to the period immediately after that of the Lagozza.
