Hermitage of Santa Caterina

An extraordinary convent complex founded in the XIII century in an evocative and solitary environment on a cliff above Lake Maggiore. The complex is made up of various buildings erected between the XIV and the XV century. Inside the church the chapel of Saint Catherine, original nucleus of the structure dating to the XIII century, is still preserved. The buildings are decorated with pictorial cycles realised in various phases from the XIV century to the XIX century.
