Castle - Paleontological section
In the tunnels excavated during the First World War (for the 'Cadorna Line') within the black Calcare di Perledo-Varenna beneath Vezio castle, a permanent exhibition has been installed dedicated to the "Lariosaurus", a nothosaurus that takes its name from the lake below, and that has also been found on MSG.
This display presents the casts of almost all of the examples thus far discovered around Perledo, on Monte San Giorgio, and in China.
